Always consider yourself worthy

Introduction
Hello, all, in this segment of Learning for All, I will be discussing how you can motivate yourself and how to change a negative mindset into a positive one.
In each blog post, I will introduce the topic, explain what the topic is, then share my experience with the particular topic. My sources of information will be hyperlinks at the end of each post and cited at the end of the blog.

What do I mean when I say how to motivate yourself? I am sharing ways to help you have a productive work ethic that is based on positivity.
First and foremost, your learning difference is what makes you unique and awesome, never get discouraged for being different. Always consider yourself worthy, the biggest obstacle in your life is you.
In order to fully learn and achieve great things that will allow you to become the best version of yourself. You have to have a positive mindset and create ways to measure your successes.

Inspirational quotes
To keep a cool head and not get frustrated with yourself, here are some quotes by famous people around the world that discuss the mindsets of having a learning difference.

You can be bright and have dyslexia. You just have to understand how you learn and how you process information. When you know that, when you know that, you can overcome a lot of obstacles that come with dyslexia.- Heisman Trophy winner

This quote shows how to work with your learning difference, rather than against it. To fully immerse your self, in your abilities.
“I used to love reading when I was little, and then it became difficult, and I didn’t understand why.”... “Because of my history, it’s hard for me to learn things, so I practiced 20 times as hard.”-Tom Cruise Actor
Tom Cruise, is a crazy successful actor who was able to use his learning difference as a way to help him achieve his goals.

“The advantage of dyslexia is that my brain puts information in my head in a different way.”
-Whoopi Goldberg, Actress, and Singer.
Whoopie Goldberg, did not fight to think normally but in fact, embraced the ability to think differently which allowed her to come successful.

These quotes and people are just a small portion of the inspiration that exists within the success of people with a learning difference.
Positive Mindset Equals Success
Do not fight yourself on what you can not do, you should instead embrace what can achieve. Many times' people with learning differences get frustrated with their inability to do certain things like read at grade level. (Trust me I know because I was one of these people).
There are two types of mindsets:
Fixed Mindset: This is the belief that intelligence is fixed and that any subject that is difficult or requires more effort simply means that you are not good at it.
Growth Mindset: This is the belief that intelligence can be grown and subjects that are difficult or require extra effort means that you are increasing your intelligence.

Many times, people think that intelligence is predetermined, that is in fact not true, what is true that intelligence can grow by learning more and figuring out ways to overcome obstacles.
Having a learning difference is a superpower because you are able to see that world in a different way compared to anyone else. Having a growth mindset is the best utility belt or tool a superhero could ever ask for, a growth mindset allows you to achieve great things even when the odds may seem unfavorable.

When you feel as though you are plateauing and no one understands how hard it is to learn to read and write, here are a few things to help you out.
Never say words like “I can not”, “I am not good enough”, or “It is different for me”
Replace those works with “I can do this and will do this”, “I am worthy for success it is right around the corner”, and “This may be challenging, but I can overcome it”
Create ways to measure your success, for example, for every book you complete add a sticker to your wall, over the next few weeks your wall will be covered in stickers.
For every new word writing skill that you learned, like what prepositions are. Indulge yourself in a piece of candy and take a note of it on a poster. In a few short weeks, you will see exactly what you are able to achieve.
Use technology, technology is your best friend, as mentioned in my last blog if you struggle with reading and read slowly. Change the script and get an audiobook, use software like voice typing on Google word to assist with writing papers or in my case this blog.(I seriously use voice typing to write this blog)
My Personal Experience
learning did come, come easy for me, I did not know the entire alphabet until I was halfway in the first grade. I was not able to write a complete sentence until I was in the third grade, and I did not know how to read properly until halfway into fifth grade.
In seventh grade, I was able to have reading compression and understood what I was reading. In ninth grade, I was able to write paragraphs, tenth grade I was able to write papers by myself.
It was not until my senior year of high school, was the first time homework took less than 7 hours to complete.
I struggled with learning/still do, what I have found that helps me with achieving greatness and moving forward is the ability to think positive.
For the longest time I fought with my learning difference, it was not until I was able to embrace my learning difference everything changed.
Love yourself and keep moving forward.
In the next blog for Learning For All, I will go over how to properly choose classes, what classes to take, and how to be successful in your class.
Thank you for reading.
